With loads of highway driving and not driving like an idiot my Acura CL Type S gets about 350 miles on a 17~ish gallon fuel tank. Otherwise I normally get around 270 to 310 miles mixed city+highway.

2003 Ford Explorer 4.0 V6. Automatic. It will slide on dirt (don’t dare try on pavement). It also gets between 9.8-14.6 mpg. At least that is the range in fuel economy that I have seen from it. and the tank I got 14.6 on, I absolutely babied just it to see what I could get for mpg. It still sucked. I average about 11-12 usually.

Ford Escort 1994, CLX Sport trim, 1.8L I4 engine and all, no matter what i do it hits in the ballpark of 12.3km/l, or 8.1L/km, or 29-ish mpg. Doesn’t matter if i do city driving mostly or long motorway trips, it just stays in that area of guzzling...

My Mazda3 s (2.5L L5-VE) averages about 32MPG between my driving style and relatively open, rural commute. My late Honda Civic FG2 “Franken-Si” (‘09 EX-L that inexplicably had a 2.0L K20Z3) somehow averaged 41MPG, and I thrashed that thing every opportunity I had.

FR-S 27 miles per gallon mixed driving conditions. I can get into the low 30s if I really hold back, but that is no fun.

The Challenger R/T does about 26 highway, I’m not sure what it does in the city. Even though it idles a lot, thus dropping MPG a bit, it’s probably still abysmal in the city. Rarely do I drive on the highway, also. But I don’t grandma it during the city either. I wanna hear that V8. I don’t drive recklessly by any means, but probably about 10% quicker than the average other car accelerates.

Averaging about 35mpg (UK) in a 1.2 Twingo. The economy is awful because I drive too fast on the motorway and do a lot of short stop start trips where it isnt allowed to warm up.

2003 Mazda6 S V6 (3.0), U.S. 220hp (ish).
I’ve had it for 6 weeks as of today, and have averaged 19.6mpg (computed my miles driven divided by gallons required to fill the tank until the automatic shutoff). Not great, but better than the 1990 Volvo I had before, and considering my drive is pretty much 4 miles of 35mph hills each way, not too shabby.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
...probably ~ 9L/100km/26mpg city.
2006 Hyundai Elantra GT, 5-door hatch, automatic transmission (!), with the 2.0L Beta II i4 CVVT engine.
That’s better than the EPA estimates for this car when new. I’m pretty stoked.

When I DD’ed my Chevelle, I averaged 11 MPG.
These days in my P71, I’ll get 21-22 on the highway, 17 or so in town if I’m gentle. When it gets cold, knock 5MPG off both of those figures.
![]() 05/22/2015 at 13:05 |

I get about 15-16mpg on mine, but I have no armor. I can still pull 18mpg on the highway if I’m keeping it below 75 and it isn’t windy.
